Title: "Circassian Deer"

Artist: Ernest Griset (1844-1907)

Size: 21" x15"

Price: SOLD

Ernest Henry Griset was one of the 19thc best known comic illustrators. This drawing dates from c.1865 is signed bottom left and inscribed bottom right. In good unfaded condition, it has a little foxing but that is always the case with Grisets drawings. A good example of this increasingly sought after artist's work. The paper is watermarked 1865. It was drawn from life at the Regents Park Zoo shortly after Griset had come to London.

Title: "Utrecht"

Artist: Elijah Walton

Size: 7" x 5"

Price: £65

A beautiful topographical watercolour of Utrecht c.1860.

It is unsigned but was bought fully catalogued as being by Walton from Christies South Kensington in the mid 1980’s. It is a page from his sketchbook and has some damage to the corners but it doesn’t detract from the image. It hasn’t lost to much colour and would have been painted en plein air.

Title: "The Lute Player"

Attributed to Sir George Hayter (1792-1871)

Size: 6" x 4"

Price: £95

A beautiful unsigned pen and ink drawing of a Lute Player which I believe to have been drawn by Sir George Hayter c.1840.In good condition.

An unsigned pencil and watercolour drawing by Howitt that came from my good friend Luke Gertlers collection so it has an impeccable provenance. It is in very good condition having come from an album judging by the number (25) at bottom.
